Overview

ivsDPS_IO_Plugins 1.0.0.6 is a set of plug-ins providing high-quality DPS file format input/output for After Effects CS4, CS5, CS5.5 and CS6 and for Fusion 5/6 (32 and 64 bit).

Since the very first version of Velocity, DPS provided its users with a plug-in for After Effects, adding support for .dps and .dva files to Adobe's compositing application. When Quattrus and Reality went out of production, however, Harris stopped developing the plug-ins for these boards, which supported After Effects CS3 at most.

The ivsDPS-I/O plug-ins were created to overcome this limit, so that .dps/.dva files can still be used in After Effects and Fusion compositions and compositions can be rendered to the same formats. They support both SD and HD .dps/.dva files, on 32- and 64-bit operating systems.

Features

The plug-ins for After Effects and Fusion offer many export options, including compressed or uncompressed video, data rate, alpha channel and alpha channel data rate, and can add timecode information (even if the original file had none) and the tape name (reel name).

The PLAY and EDIT WHILE REC function lets an external application such as ivsEdits, VelocityQ or VelocityHD edit the file even before After Effects or Fusion have finished rendering. The ENHANCED DPS FORMAT function creates advanced DPS files with HD support (note: Velocity, VelocityQ and VelocityHD could not read Enhanced DPS at the time).

The ivsDPS-I/O plug-ins rely on an advanced .dps codec that supports the instructions of modern multicore CPUs, so After Effects can generate .dps files at very high speed, far faster than the original DPS plug-in, while keeping the same compatibility and the same renowned video quality.
